Backend Engineer (Node.js / APIs / Databases)

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable Node.js backend services
  • Work with PostgreSQL (RDS) and pgBouncer
  • Develop and extend Directus API functions
  • Manage Redis for caching/sessions
  • Build workflows with NATS + JetStream and Temporal
  • Deploy/manage OpenFaaS serverless functions

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, Express/NestJS
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, pgBouncer
  • Hands-on with Directus API functions
  • Knowledge of Redis (pub/sub, caching, queues)
  • Experience with NATS + JetStream
  • Familiarity with Temporal.io orchestration
  • Exposure to OpenFaaS, microservices
  • Should be able to coordinate with front end developer
